Kyoto（京都）
Kyoto was the capital of Japan for 1,200 years until 1869, when Tokyo was designated as the capital. Kyoto is home to many shrines and temples, some of which are designated World Heritage sites, and was the number one tourist city in the world in 2014/15 according to the U.S. magazine "Travel + Leisure. Kiyomizu Temple, Kinkakuji Temple, Ginkakuji Temple, and Fushimi Inari Shrine are popular.
